Why become a REEdI Industry partner

Access to well rounded engineering graduates

The REEdI programme offers our industry partners an opportunity to have an engineering student in-situ working on everyday projects and tasks. Our graduates are different because our programme places equal importance on soft and technical skills.

Our Partners

REEdI Student Engineers engage extensively with industry throughout the programme spending half their time in enterprise placements with the following industry partners.

Abbey Machinery
Action Zero
AlpsAlpine

Some of our Frequently Asked Questions

REEdI is a ground-breaking approach to engineering education in Ireland, funded through the Higher Education Authorities (HEA) Human Capital Initiative (HCI) Pillar 3. Student engineers that graduate with a REEdI Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering will be perfectly placed to become Engineers of the future for Irelands Manufacturing sector.

Ireland has a shortage of Engineering Graduates with the skills that the manufacturing sector requires. REEdI are addressing this by co-designing the REEdI Engineering Curricula with our industry partners and embedding world class models of teaching and assessment throughout the curriculum.

The project is co-ordinated across two higher education institutes in Ireland: MTU, and UL. Charles Sturt University in Australia and Harper Adams University in the UK bring an international dimension to the project.

Engineers can create fantastic new technological advancements that can improve the way we live. Engineers design & develop materials, processes & systems in a sustainable way. The work Engineers do ensure products such as medical devices and pharmaceuticals are produced safely and efficiently to enhance, prolong and save people’s lives. Being an engineer gives you the opportunity to make a huge difference to individuals, to society and to the world.

You will have 2 years’ work experience in world class companies, so you can earn as you learn. Future proof your employment opportunities and increase your market value by having valuable work experience prior to even graduating! You will also get to learn in teams, on projects and by using immersive technologies (Virtual and Augmented Reality) compared to a traditional engineering degree where you learn mainly in the classroom and in laboratories.

Are you REEdI to enhance your skills and boost your career?

Accredited courses designed to meet the demands of learners, enterprise and society
