At REEdI, we are continually inspired by the talent and determination shown by our students. They approach every opportunity with enthusiasm and a willingness to push boundaries, whether in the classroom, in collaborative projects, or through practical industry experiences. Their commitment to growth, creative thinking, and problem-solving reflects the strong foundation they are building as the next generation of engineers and changemakers.

REEdI Student Interns

Over summer, we were delighted to welcome our second-year REEdI engineering students Shane Kelleher and Agaba Hiswill to the team as interns supporting the Blocks4Change project. Shane and Hiswill played a key role in our public consultation efforts, engaging with communities around Kerry and helping gather valuable insights through data analysation. They also designed and 3D-printed our LEGO keychain merchandise, which proved a big hit with the public.

WorldSkills Ireland Finalists

We are proud to highlight the achievements of Jia Chyen Queek and Gearóid Costello, who represented their disciplines at the WorldSkills Ireland Competition. Jia Chyen Queek was named a finalist in Mechanical 3D CAD, demonstrating exceptional technical precision and design capability, while Gearóid Costello reached finalist level in Additive Manufacturing – Fusion 360, showcasing advanced skills in digital design and manufacturing workflows. Their success reflects both their individual dedication and the high standard of training within their programmes, and we congratulate them on this outstanding accomplishment.

New REEdI Students

In September, REEdI welcomed a new cohort of engineering students to the programme, and it was fantastic to see such a strong intake. The high level of interest reflects the continued growth and momentum of the course, as well as the increasing demand for innovative, industry-focused engineering education. We look forward to supporting this cohort as they begin their journey with us.

Engineering Symposium Award Winners

At the REEdI Engineering Symposium 2025, student excellence was recognised through a series of awards celebrating outstanding work and presentation. Shane Kelleher received the award for Best Overall Presentation, while Elaine O’Donovan was honoured with Best Poster. All students put in a tremendous effort to showcase their skills and projects to the industry representatives in attendance, impressing both the judges and guests throughout the day.

2025 Student Placements

Our third-year students embarked on their work placements with a wide range of industry partners, allowing them to continue their learning experience in a practical, real-world setting. These placements provide invaluable opportunities for students to apply their knowledge, develop professional skills, and gain firsthand insight into industry practices as they progress through the programme.
