Bio

Katherine O’Sullivan is an Engineering Fellow working on the REEdI project at Munster Technological University.

Katherine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Chemistry) from University College Cork and a Master’s Degree in Science (Instrumental Analysis) from Dublin City University. She is currently finishing her level 9 Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma with Munster Technological University.

She is a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, with over 23 years’ experience working as a professional Engineer & Scientist in both Research and Manufacturing sectors. Katherine is a strong team player and works well on own initiative and is committed to continuous learning.

Katherine has had varied Engineering and Research Roles in the Electronics and Automotive Industries whereby she held responsibility for product, process and knowledge transfer. She has been instrumental in setting up a cleanroom and laboratory equipment in her previous roles. Katherine also held a position in Advanced Engineering whereby she was part of a core team that designed and developed Automotive HVAC Heaters. She gained vast experience in this project across the complete lifecycle of the product from design to validation to product launch. In her industry roles, she engaged heavily with universities in Ireland and abroad collaborating on projects. She has managed grant applications and funding with Enterprise Ireland, IDA and Universities. As part of her everyday work, Katherine in committed to operational excellence and works to accredited industry standards including ISO14001 & ISO/TS16949. She is an experienced lean and six sigma practitioner and has specific skills on Value Stream Mapping and Lean Project Implementation.
