Bio

Padraig Kelly is a Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering working on the REEdI project at Munster Technological University.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MTU (Cork) in 2004 and a Masters of Engineering by Research from MTU (Kerry) in 2012.

Since beginning his career as a building services design engineer, Padraig has held various positions across the Construction, Research, Food and Automotive/Manufacturing Industries.

Within the food industry, he held positions as a Process Engineer and Site Engineering Manager. Here, Padraig gained in-depth experience around project management, hygienic design and equipment maintenance techniques.

As a manufacturing & quality engineer in the automotive industry, he introduced a new high speed production line. In 2020, Padraig progressed to Technical Supervisor where his core work involved troubleshooting issues, establishing stability of production equipment and coordinating a team of technicians.

Padraig has a passion for systematic problem solving and working with teams.

Outside of work, he enjoys competing in Triathlon and spending time with his family.
